Dancing On Ice to pre-record group dances next week

ITV will pre-record all of the group routines for the new series of Dancing On Ice next week.

The group dances on the new series of Dancing On Ice are to be pre-recorded next week, we can confirm.

The new run of the celebrity skating contest is due to begin on ITV in January as usual, with the likes of Rebekah Vardy, Denise Van Outen, Jason Donovan and Colin Jackson taking part.

Even though the coronavirus pandemic remains a serious threat, provisions are in place to enable the series to proceed even in the event of a fresh spike of cases after the Christmas holidays.

One of the measures in place is to record all of the group dances in advance of the series airing - the same approach used by Strictly Come Dancing this year.

The routines will be filmed next Monday and Tuesday, we can report, with a limited studio audience in attendance at the show's regular filming location in Hemel Hempstead - currently in tier two of the UK's coronavirus rules.

ITV is expected to confirm the launch date for the new series in the coming days.
