Tyler Conti joins Hollyoaks, the personal trainer boyfriend of returning Cleo McQueen.

Tyler Conti has joined the cast of Hollyoaks playing Abe, the personal trainer boyfriend of the returning Cleo McQueen (Nadine Mulkerrin).

Cleo made a surprise return to the village in this week's episodes, looking to reconnect with her ex Joel (Rory Douglas-Speed), and was followed on Friday by her recent fling Abe.

Abe is described as "a passionate and charming man, appearing very loving, friendly, and approachable" - and it soon becomes apparent that he already has a familial connection to the village.

"Abe is a charming working-class young lad with a manipulative streak a mile wide," said Conti, who has previously appeared in the Harlan Coben miniseries Safe.

"The ingredients of a deeply troubled past and a complicated family life have brewed his dangerous temper, especially when things don't go his way.

"I can't wait for Abe to explode into to the Hollyoaks village, you can expect danger, manipulation, and one heck of a messy family that comes with."

Also returning to the soap this week were Theresa McQueen (Jorgie Porter) and matriarch Myra McQueen (Nicole Barber Lane).
