Spider-Man's Tom Holland: "I'm ready to say goodbye"

Spider-Man's Tom Holland:
Tom Holland admits that he may have donned the Spider-Man suit for the final time.

Tom Holland has admitted that he is uncertain whether he will return to the role of Spider-Man in future movies.

The actor has played Peter Parker since the character's introduction into the MCU and can currently be seen in Spider-Man: No Way Home, which was released this week.

The movie marks the final film in Holland's deal with Sony and Marvel, although producer Amy Pascal recently revealed that plans are afoot for a new Spider-Man trilogy.

Discussing his future with The Hollywood Reporter at a press junket, Holland said: "There have been conversations about the future of Spider-Man. Whether it will be with me, I'm not too sure yet. You know, maybe I'll be a producer or something, I don't know.

"But I do know that I love this character and I would be sad to say goodbye, but I have achieved basically everything I wanted to achieve as this character."

He added: "So I'm ready, I'm ready to say goodbye."

Spider-Man: No Way Home is expected to gross around $290m (£217m) worldwide in its opening weekend, despite increased concerns about the Omicron variant of coronavirus affecting cinema receipts.
