A report claims that La Liga champions Barcelona are preparing to play behind closed doors at Camp Nou until February 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Barcelona have reportedly drawn up plans that would see them close Camp Nou for another 10 months in an attempt to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

The COVID-19 outbreak has hit Spain particularly bad, with close to 21,000 people being killed by the respiratory illness.

No football has been played in La Liga since early March and the league will not resume until June at the earliest.

According to Catalan newspaper La Vanguardia, Barca are already preparing for a worst-case scenario that would see them play behind closed doors until February 2021.

The same report indicates that the Spanish champions are also preparing for the transfer window to run for a month between August 15 and September 15.

La Liga chief Javier Tebas warned earlier this month that Spanish football could lose up to €1bn (£882m) as a result of the pandemic.
