David Ginola: 'Signing Luis Suarez is a real gamble'

David Ginola believes that any club wanting to sign Luis Suarez from Liverpool this summer will be taking a "gamble".

David Ginola believes that clubs will "think twice" about signing Luis Suarez this summer if he is proven guilty of biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup.

The Liverpool striker has been accused of committing the act, for which he has been punished twice previously in his career, during Uruguay's 1-0 win in Natal on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old has been linked with big-money moves to Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona this summer, but Ginola believes that the striker's latest controversial incident will make clubs question their approach.

"A lot of teams will be interested in signing Suarez, he's an amazing striker, but they will probably think twice now," Ginola told talkSPORT.

"They know he could do something that may make him miss ten games of the season through suspension, so, while he would undoubtedly score a lot of goals, he's a real gamble."

Reports have emerged claiming that Barca are prepared to submit a player-plus-cash offer involving Alexis Sanchez for Suarez this summer.
