Manchester City legend David Silva will reportedly stay with the club until the end of this season, despite his contract only running until June 30 as things stand.

Manchester City stalwart David Silva will extend his stay at the club until the end of the current campaign, whenever that may be, according to a report.

Silva announced earlier this term that the 2019-20 campaign would be his 10th and last as a Man City player, with the Spaniard's contract due to expire at the end of the season.

As things stand Silva's deal runs out on June 30, but the coronavirus-enforced shutdown of football means that the season will now extend beyond that date.

Man City must still play 10 Premier League games in addition to however many FA Cup and Champions League games they rack up, meaning that their season could still be taking place two months after Silva is currently due to leave.

However, The Times reports that the 34-year-old will see out the rest of the campaign, however long that may take, after the Premier League gave the green light for short-terms deals.

Silva is yet to decide on his next move, but he has been linked with the likes of Valencia and MLS franchise Inter Miami.
