Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is planning to sit down with midfielder Kalvin Phillips at the end of this season to discuss the Englishman's future at the club.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is prepared to sit down with Kalvin Phillips after the conclusion of this season to discuss the midfielder's situation at the club.

The England international made the £45m switch to the Etihad from Leeds United last summer but due to injury - alongside the form of Rodri and John Stones - Phillips has played just 103 minutes of Premier League football.

Having yet to start a league match for the Citizens, speculation has begun to arise on whether the midfielder will be plying his trade elsewhere next season, but Guardiola has opted to remain tight-lipped.

"In some things he needs to adapt a little bit more but what happens next season, I'm not concerned for one second now," the Man City boss said ahead of Saturday's clash with Leeds.

"We will see at the end of the season. We'll sit with the players. Maybe they want more minutes or maybe they are not happy with the situation. But right now I'm not going to discuss anything."

Sam Allardyce brings Phillips's former employers to Manchester on Saturday afternoon as the Citizens look to take another massive step towards a third-straight Premier League crown under Guardiola.
