Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi says that his side are not interested in signing free agent Cristiano Ronaldo.

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has ruled out a move for free agent Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 37-year-old had his contract at Manchester United terminated at the end of November following his criticism of the Red Devils during an explosive interview with Piers Morgan on TalkTV.

Ronaldo is now searching for a new club, with the attacker said to be determined to continue his career at a Champions League side.

PSG have previously been linked with the Portugal international, with the French giants one of a select number of European clubs capable of affording his wage demands.

However, Al-Khelaifi has officially ruled out a move for Ronaldo, claiming that a deal would be "very difficult" due to the presence of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe at the club.

"The three players that we have [Messi, Neymar and Mbappe], it's very difficult, but I wish him all the best. He's fantastic and he's still an amazing player," Al-Khelaifi told Sky News.

Ronaldo has been heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, with various reports claiming that he has agreed a mega-money deal with Al-Nassr.

However, the experienced forward said: "No that's not true - not true," when questioned on the rumours following Portugal's win over Switzerland in the last-16 stage of the World Cup.

Ronaldo was dropped to the bench for Portugal's clash on Tuesday night, and his replacement, Goncalo Ramos, scored three times during his team's 6-1 win.

The striker is now expected to remain on the bench for his side's World Cup quarter-final against Morocco, which will take place on Saturday.

Ronaldo entered the competition in Qatar off the back of a disappointing start to the season for Man United, having managed just three goals and two assists in 16 appearances in all competitions.

The forward struck just once in 10 Premier League appearances, in addition to two goals and two assists in six outings in the group stage of the Europa League.

Ronaldo had a contract with Erik ten Hag's side until next June, meaning that he has given up around £16m in wages, having seen his deal come to an end at the end of November.

Sporting Lisbon continue to be linked with their former youngster, but the only serious offer at this stage is believed to have come from Saudi Arabia.
