England's Rajiv Ouseph eager to bounce back with badminton medal at Glasgow 2014

Rajiv Ouseph hopes that he can put his "disappointing" loss earlier today behind him to win bronze in the men's badminton doubles at the Commonwealth Games.

Team England badminton player Rajiv Ouseph is hopeful that he can put his men's singles semi-final defeat behind him and win the men's doubles bronze-medal final at the Commonwealth Games.

The 27-year-old was edged out by India's Kashyap Parupalli earlier today to end his hopes of winning gold at Glasgow 2014, but he remains in with a chance of taking bronze tonight at the Emirates Arena.

"He played a bit more solid than I did in the second and third sets," Ouseph told reporters after the match. "I started pretty well but my pace definitely dropped in the second two sets.

"I tried as hard as I could and it just wasn't there in my legs today. I was maybe going for it a bit too much early in rallies and that cost me but I gave it everything I've got.

"It's disappointing to lose and come so close to the gold-medal match but I have got to get over that now and make sure that I get a medal."

Ouseph won a silver medal in Delhi four years ago.
