Five members of Dancing On Ice crew 'test positive for coronavirus'

Five members of the production team of Dancing On Ice reportedly test positive for coronavirus, although the show is expected to launch as planned on Sunday.

Dancing On Ice has reportedly been hit with a number of positive coronavirus cases just days before the show goes on air.

The new series, which features celebrities including Rebekah Vardy, Jason Donovan and Denise van Outen, begins this Sunday and will air over 10 weeks on ITV.

The famous faces have bubbled up with their professional partners for the duration of the show, while studio audiences have been scrapped and strict social distancing measures are in place on set in order to prevent an outbreak of COVID-19.

According to The Sun, five members of the crew have tested positive for coronavirus in recent days, although producers are hopeful that they have contained the situation.

"More than five members of production are isolating because of COVID right now - it's become a nightmare," a source told the newspaper.

"ITV have put a number of stringent rules in place, and after seeing members of production going down with it, they are urging everyone to take note of them.

"They're now enforcing even stricter regulations. But while there are concerns about further people having to isolate, bosses are confident they have put all the precautions in place to safely be able to get the show on air."

The series launches Sunday at 6pm on ITV.
