Owen Warner has revealed that he filmed a brief scene for Hollyoaks hours after he finished taking part in I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

The actor, who plays hunky Romeo Nightingale on the Channel 4 soap, finished runner-up to ex-footballer Jill Scott on the ITV competition after spending three weeks in the Aussie jungle.

Romeo has been temporarily written out of the show while Warner has been down under, but the character will be seen on FaceTime in an episode airing over Christmas as his best mate Prince (Malique Thompson-Dwyer) gets married.

"I got taken downstairs they gave me a script and said 'learn this'," Warner said on This Morning. "I was there doing a FaceTime and it took me a while to learn that."

He added: "I was a bit rusty when I came back, usually I'm quite good at learning lines. I'll read a page once or twice and it's lodged in my brain, but I came back, read it once or twice and it weren't sticking.

"After you leave your head is scrambled. Your head's all fuzzy, you don't know what's going on."

Romeo will make a full return to Hollyoaks early next year.
