Two of the male participants on the next series of Married At First Sight UK reportedly engaged in a "physical altercation" during filming.

The E4 dating show has been gradually brought in line with the popular Australian version of the format in recent years - and this year's series will run to a record 36 episodes.

The new series will also include more couples than ever before, including four bombshell couples, and producers have supposedly cast younger participants than ever before, which has added to the drama.

"This season of MAFS UK has just finished filming and it is very explosive," a show source told OK! magazine.

"[There's] wife swapping, massive rows and even a physical altercation between two of the grooms. One of them was even removed from the show."

They added: "Since filming ended, the cast's WhatsApp group chat has blown up. The two grooms are going head-to-head and are planning a boxing fight between them.

"The reunion is due to be filmed in July and at this rate it will be explosive."

The new series of MAFS UK is due to air on E4 this autumn.
