Revamped 'MasterChef Australia' gets premiere date
The new season of MasterChef Australia gets an April 13 premiere date on Channel 10 down under.

The upcoming 12th season of MasterChef Australia will premiere down under on April 13, Channel 10 has confirmed.

The cookery series, which has garnered worldwide popularity in recent years, is returning this year with a new format and a brand new judging panel after original hosts Gary Mehigan, George Calombaris and Matt Preston left in a row over pay.

The new lineup comprises Scottish chef Jock Zonfrillo, food writer Melissa Leong and season four winner Andy Allen, while the theme of the season is 'Back To Win', with 24 contestants from seasons past competing for a second chance at winning the title and a cash prize of AUS$250,000 (£124,000).

Guest stars this season include Gordon Ramsay and pop singer Katy Perry, whose song 'Hot N Cold' has been used as the show's theme tune in past seasons.

In Australia the show will air on Channel 10 from Monday, April 13 at 7.30pm and every weeknight for around three months. In the UK the new season is expected to premiere on W later in the year.
