The Wanted 'enter race for Christmas number one'
Recently-reunited boyband The Wanted reportedly plan to enter the race for the Christmas number one with a new single.

The Wanted have reportedly thrown their hat into the ring to land this year's Christmas number one.

The five-piece boyband recently reunited for a charity gig to support band member Tom Parker, who is battling terminal brain cancer, and have since announced plans for a full UK tour next Spring.

The group are also known to have been recording new music and according to The Sun, they now intend to get a new single out in time for Christmas.

The competition for this year's festive top spot looks to be strong, with other contenders including Adele, LadBaby and an Ed Sheeran-Elton John collaboration.

Gary Barlow and Leona Lewis are also in the running, with each planning to release Christmas-themed albums in the coming weeks.
