New series of 'Geordie Shore' delayed due to coronavirus

The new series of Geordie Shore is postponed until later in the year as a result of the coronavirus shutdown.

The upcoming new series of Geordie Shore has been delayed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

The 21st season of the MTV reality show was recorded at the end of last year, although the cast members have yet to finish recording their 'talking head' segments and production has now been suspended due to the spread of COVID-19.

As a result the new run, which was due to begin later this month, has been postponed until later in the year.

A source told The Sun: "It's thrown the end of the series into chaos, really, as the cast haven't filmed the final green screen chats, where they talk to the camera about what's happening on the show.

"All the nights out and footage in the house is in the bag, it's just the commentary that they didn't finish - which has really put a spanner in the works.

"They're hoping they can complete the show but some parts of the filming had to be postponed."

More than 1 million people worldwide have now tested positive for coronavirus, with over 51,700 losing their lives.
