Jack Saunders to replace Scott Mills as host of The Official Chart

Jack Saunders is revealed as the new host of The Official Chart on BBC Radio 1, taking over from Scott Mills.

Jack Saunders has been named as the new host of The Official Chart on BBC Radio 1, taking over the mantle from Scott Mills.

The 29-year-old has been with the station since 2018 and has steadily risen through the ranks, presenting the BBC's coverage of Glastonbury last month.

Mills left Radio 1 earlier this month after 24 years - including four years hosting the chart show - in order to join Radio 2 as the replacement for Steve Wright.

"I can't believe my name gets added next to the endless list of legends who have presented The Official Chart and to take over from an amazing broadcaster such as Scott Mills is amazing," Saunders said.

"I can't wait to get started and put my own imprint on it."

R1 head Aled Haydn Jones said: "Jack is a fantastic presenter who has proved hugely popular with our listeners.

"I know fans of The Official Chart will love his infectious energy and passion for music that he'll undoubtedly bring to the show."

Saunders's first show will air on Friday, September 9.
