Tom Davis reveals that his Wonka co-star Timothee Chalamet became addicted to Football Manager while filming the movie.

Timothee Chalamet got hooked on playing football videogames while filming Wonka in the UK, according to his co-star.

The movie - a prequel telling the formative days of Willy Wonka - was shot in the UK at the end of 2021 but only came out this Christmas due to multiple delays including the recent writers' strike.

Comedian Tom Davis, who plays Wonka's landlord Bleacher in the film, said that he became friends with Chalamet during the shoot and introduced him to Football Manager.

"I'm showing him how it works and, no joke, three days later he's got his Mac and is like, 'This game is f*****g amazing and addictive'," he recalled to the Always Be Comedy podcast. "He started managing Reims in the French league."

The 28-year-old then became more curious and moved on to FIFA, the world's most popular sports computer game.

"He had this insane trailer and we'd just sit in there and play FIFA," Davis added. "He's just a normal kid."

Wonka has proven to become a box office hit, bringing in a worldwide total of over $400m (£344m) in its first month of release off a budget of $125m (£108m).
