Channel 4 starts accepting applications for the next series of The Circle ahead of a possible recommission.

Channel 4 has begun accepting speculative applications for the next series of The Circle ahead of possible filming this summer.

The reality show, which sees strangers enter an apartment block and communicate with each other anonymously through a social messaging platform, is currently airing its third series - pre-recorded last autumn under coronavirus-safe conditions.

The broadcaster has yet to officially commission a fourth series but is inviting applications online, with filming tentatively due to take place over four weeks between August and October.

The current series has delivered decent ratings for Channel 4, with its first week of shows last month averaging 1.33 million viewers, according to seven-day consolidated BARB data.

The final is due to air on Channel 4 on Friday, April 9.
