The first celebrity is revealed on the new series of The Masked Singer UK.

The new series of The Masked Singer UK began last night with M People's Heather Small being unmasked.

The '90s icon had taken on the character of Chandelier for the show and had attempted to hide her distinctive voice while performing a cover of the Patsy Cline classic 'Crazy'.

Ultimately the studio audience and the judges decided that she was one to be unmasked, and after the reveal, the judges were shocked - especially Mo Gilligan, who had earlier guessed Small for a different character.

Speaking afterwards, she said: "The challenge was to disguise my voice so the panel couldn't get to guess who I was. I wanted it to be a real surprise and I think I achieved that.

"I live with my son and mother and they had no clue! I managed to keep it a secret."

The Masked Singer continues tonight at 7.30pm with the first performances from Bagpipes, Rockhopper, Poodle, Panda, Snow Leopard and Traffic Cone.
