The Masked Dancer host Joel Dommett admits uncertainty over the show's future.

Joel Dommett has said that he is unsure whether The Masked Dancer will return for a second series in 2022.

The spinoff from The Masked Singer aired over a week at Easter to mediocre ratings, although the final episode peaked with almost 5 million viewers.

ITV has yet to make a decision on a second series but Dommett told the Radio Times that it "doesn't matter" if the show returns or not.

"Fingers crossed it comes back," he said. "It's a privilege to be a part of a situation where it doesn't matter too much if it doesn't come back because The Masked Singer is the most important thing, really.

"It's nice to have that extra show in the middle of the year so we'll see whether they both happen or just one of them happens."

The third series of The Masked Singer is being filmed this month and will air early next year.
