Piers Morgan says that he will be back on TV "soon", almost six months after his exit from Good Morning Britain.

Piers Morgan has assured fans that he will be back on TV "soon" after his extended hiatus from screens.

The 56-year-old dramatically quit Good Morning Britain in March amid a furore over his negative reaction to Meghan Markle's tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Since then, Morgan has filmed a few episodes of his ITV series Piers Morgan's Life Stories but has yet to agree a full-time TV job - with recent rumours linking him to a show on the new TV channel GB News and even a surprise return to GMB.

Dismissing the latter prospect, he wrote on Twitter: "Unfortunately, I still don't believe a word Pinocchio Princess says, so this won't be happening...."

In another tweet, replying to a fan asking for his TV return, he said: "Relax, Evelyn.. I'll be back on your TV soon."

Morgan is still thought to be under contract at ITV through his GMB deal until December.
