Ivan Trevejo wins fencing gold for France

Cuba-born Ivan Trevejo wins gold for France in fencing after defeating Russia's Sergey Khodos in the individual epee final.

Fencer Ivan Trevejo has won gold for France in this evening's individual epee after beating Russia's Sergey Khodos in the final.

Havana-born Trevejo, 43, beat his 28-year-old counterpart 15-8 in tonight's showpiece to pick up another major medal, having won silver for Cuba at the 1996 Olympics.

Norway's Bartosz Piasecki and Frenchman Daniel Jerent scooped bronze, following their respective semi-final defeats.

Trevejo's success marked France's sixth gold medal in Baku thus far.
