Santi Cazorla keen to rejoin Spanish club

Arsenal ace Santi Cazorla says that he wants to rejoin Real Oviedo before he retires from the game.

Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has revealed an ambition to rejoin former club Real Oviedo at some point in the future.

The 30-year-old left the club in 2003 to join Villarreal but is hell-bent on returning before he hangs up his boots.

The third-tier side is close to his heart, having teamed up with other Oviedo youth products such as Juan Mata and Michu in 2012 to keep Los Azules in business by buying shares.

"It is the club of my home and I will be a supporter all my life," Cazorla told AS. "It is the club where I grew up from nine to 18.

"I spent my career there, I learned a lot as a player and hopefully I can wear that shirt. In the short term it will be difficult, but hopefully in a few years I can do that.

"It is the team of which I was, I am, and will be a supporter of for all of my life."

Cazorla, whose Gunners contract expires in 2018, joined the North Londoners for a reported £16m from Malaga in 2012.
