Manchester City star Bernardo Silva has suggested that he is keen to stay at the 'best club in the world' and hopes to continue playing in the Premier League.

The 27-year-old has been a crucial cog in Pep Guardiola's machine so far this season, scoring seven goals in 18 top-flight appearances which has helped the Citizens move six points clear at the top of the table.

Silva was heavily linked with a summer departure, but the Portugal international insists that he is happy at City and states that playing at the highest level in the 'strongest league in the world' has been one of his dreams as a footballer.

When asked by O Jogo, via Sport Witness, if he is considering a move away from the Etihad Stadium, Silva said: "It depends. Right now I think it's the best championship in the world, I think it's the country where the level is highest.

"There was a Spanish dominance a few years ago, which lasted a long time. I think that at the moment the English teams are the strongest in the world and therefore it is always good to be where the best football is played.

"Then there are personal decisions that also count, such as being closer to the family. But I confess that one of my dreams was to be part of the best championship in the world."

Silva has made 225 appearances for City across all competitions since joining from Monaco in 2017, winning a total of 10 domestic trophies.
