Manchester City are reportedly ready to make offers for Ajax's Matthijs de Ligt and Leicester City's Harry Maguire as they look to replace Vincent Kompany.

Manchester City have reportedly identified Matthijs de Ligt and Harry Maguire as potential replacements for Vincent Kompany.

The long-serving club captain announced on Sunday that he would be leaving the Etihad Stadium, with the 33-year-old having agreed to become the new player-manager of former club Anderlecht.

That development will result in Pep Guardiola looking to strengthen the centre of his backline, and the Daily Mail claims that the City boss is keen on both De Ligt and Maguire.

Ajax defender De Ligt has been linked with the likes of Barcelona and Liverpool, but City may now be prepared to match any offer made for the Netherlands international.

Maguire still has four years remaining on his Leicester City contract, although that has not prevented speculation regarding the Englishman's future.

Guardiola may also have to find a replacement for Nicolas Otamendi, who could return to La Liga during the summer.
