Manchester United are reportedly on the lookout for midfield targets to replace Paul Pogba in one of the upcoming transfer windows.

Manchester United are reportedly on the lookout for midfield targets to replace Paul Pogba in one of the upcoming transfer windows.

The 28-year-old has just over six months remaining on his current contract at Old Trafford; however, there are no signs to suggest that the Frenchman is close to agreeing a new deal.

Pogba is at risk of leaving the club for free next summer, with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain believed to be interested in signing the 2018 World Cup winner.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the Red Devils will target midfielders of 'international standard' but not necessarily a marquee name like Pogba, who re-joined United for a club-record £89m in 2016.

The likes of Marseille's Boubacar Kamara, Aston Villa's John McGinn, as well as RB Leipzig duo Amadou Haidara and Christopher Nkunku have all been linked with a potential move to Old Trafford in recent weeks.

Pogba made a bright start to the campaign under former boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, registering seven assists in his first four Premier League matches; however, since then, he has failed to record a single attacking return from his next nine games in all competitions, before picking up a hamstring injury in October.
