Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino addresses speculation linking Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane with a move to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has addressed rumours over a potential reunion with Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.

There is currently speculation surrounding the future of the England captain, with only a year left to run on his Tottenham contract.

Manchester United are interested in signing the 29-year-old this summer, but Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is unlikely to sanction a sale to a domestic rival.

While there has also been links with Real Madrid, German champions Bayern Munich have seemingly emerged as the frontrunners.

However, Bayern have already had an initial bid of £60m rejected by Spurs, and it remains to be seen if the North London club will entertain any offers this summer.

Following Pochettino's recent appointment as Chelsea head coach, there has been a suggestion from some quarters that Kane could reunite with his former boss at Stamford Bridge.

During a press conference on Friday, Pochettino stated that the Blues are currently "thinking in different ways", but he stopped short of ruling out a future move for Totteham's all-time leading scorer.

Pochettino told reporters: "I don't like to talk about players in another club, but you are talking about one of the greatest, one of the best strikers in the world.

"It's not fair to talk, it's not fair to say nothing. People are not stupid, fans are not stupid, they are so clever, and they know my relationship with him was always amazing.

"I saw him when he was young, grow up and achieve all he was achieving and, of course, we have a great relationship.

"At the moment, we are thinking in different ways. We are not thinking about that. I don't like to talk about players and more than that players who were close to me."

Pochettino developed a strong relationship with Kane during his five-year stint as Tottenham manager, before being sacked in November 2019.

The Argentine has taken over a Chelsea side that endured a difficult 2022-23 campaign, but he has insisted that he cannot demand patience in his new role.

Chelsea will spend the majority of their pre-season in the United States, beginning with a friendly against League Two side Wrexham on July 19.
