The 31-year-old is set for a new loan spell in Norway.

Ralf Fahrmann’s loan spell at Norwich has been brought to an early end, the Premier League club have announced.

The goalkeeper, who joined the Canaries from Schalke in the summer on a season-long loan, will now link up with Norwegian side SK Brann on loan until June 30.

Fahrmann played just three times for Daniel Farke’s team during his stay at Carrow Road, making one Premier League appearance in the 2-0 defeat at Crystal Palace. However, the 31-year-old was forced off in the first half due to injury.

Norwich have Michael McGovern to provide back-up to number one Tim Krul for the remainder of the season, with the likes of Scottish youngster Archie Mair in the club’s development set-up.

Krul’s two saves in the penalty shoot-out helped Norwich beat Tottenham to reach the FA Cup quarter-finals, where they will host Manchester United.

The 31-year-old has been named in Holland’s provisional squad for the upcoming games against the United States and Spain.

Krul joined Norwich from Brighton during the summer of 2018 and was part of the successful Sky Bet Championship-winning squad.

The Dutchman last represented his country during 2015, when he sustained anterior cruciate ligament damage.

Former Newcastle stopper Krul had been part of the Holland squad at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil – memorably being sent on as a late substitute by Louis van Gaal ahead of the quarter-final penalty shoot-out victory over Costa Rica.
