Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar is reportedly at risk of seeing his wages cut by 50% amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar could reportedly see his wages slashed by 50% amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The 28-year-old currently earns a staggering £600,000 per week in the French capital, but the outbreak of COVID-19 has led to serious financial implications with Ligue 1 matches postponed indefinitely.

According to ESPN, talks between the French National Union of Professional Football Players and the Ministry of Economy and Finance have led to an agreement over salary cuts for players.

The report claims that players earning over €100,000 (£87,700) per week would be hit with a 50% decrease, and PSG are reportedly negotiating with their stars over the proposed cuts.

Neymar registered 13 goals and six assists in France's top flight for Thomas Tuchel's side prior to the postponement.
