Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho wants to finish the 2019-20 Premier League season once the coronavirus pandemic has passed and when football can resume.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho would like to complete the 2019-20 Premier League season once the coronavirus pandemic has passed and when football can resume.

The Premier League are to hold further talks in the coming weeks as they target a return behind closed doors in June, but will only resume when the government are satisfied with easing restrictions.

When football does return, the Portuguese wants to finish the current Premier League campaign even if that means playing matches behind closed doors.

"I miss football. If we play the remaining nine matches this season it will be good for every one of us. It will be good for football, for the Premier League," Mourinho told Sky Sports News.

"If we play football behind closed doors, I'd like to think that football is never behind closed doors.

"With cameras, it means that millions and millions are watching. So if one day we walk into this empty stadium, it will not be empty, not at all."

In football's absence, Mourinho has been volunteering at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where he has helped harvest fresh produce from the club's training ground, which is distributed within the local community.
