Tottenham Hotspur to offer Christian Eriksen £200k-a-week contract?

Tottenham Hotspur reportedly launch a fresh bid to keep Christian Eriksen at the club by offering the midfielder a £200,000-a-week contract.

Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly launch a fresh bid to keep Christian Eriksen at the club by offering the midfielder a new deal worth £200,000 a week.

The North London club has so far failed in its bid to keep hold of Eriksen, whose contract is set to expire at the end of the 2019-20 season.

Eriksen, who currently earns around £80,000 a week, has reportedly been offered a package which would more than double his wages, but the player's representatives are yet to strike an agreement with the club.

According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham plan to ramp up Eriksen's wages once more to £200,000 a week in an attempt to prevent him from leaving the club for free next summer.

Despite the emphasis on increasing Eriksen's wages, advisers have insisted that the 27-year-old's next contract would not be underpinned by financial factors.

Real Madrid have expressed keen interest in the Dane, whom they view as a cheaper target compared to Paul Pogba, with Manchester United refusing to budge on their £170m asking price for the midfielder.
