Tottenham Hotspur plan to reject Bayern Munich's second €80m (£68.4m) bid for Harry Kane, according to a report.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly set to reject Bayern Munich's second bid for striker Harry Kane.

After failing with an initial bid of €70m (£59.8m), the German champions are understood to have come forward with a revised offer totalling €80m (£68.4m).

Kane is understood to have originally ruled out a move abroad, but he has since performed a U-turn on his stance and would be open to joining Bayern in a bid to finally win a major trophy.

The 29-year-old could walk away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for nothing in 2024 as things stand, but Daniel Levy is still refusing to entertain offers for his star man.

As a result, the Daily Mail report that Bayern's second bid will be quickly rejected by Tottenham, who are showing no signs of relenting despite Kane's uncertain contract situation.

Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel is understood to have made a significant personal effort to sign Kane, whom he views as the perfect long-term successor to Robert Lewandowski.

The former Chelsea head coach will apparently go to great lengths to ensure a seamless transition to life in Germany for Kane's family, who would be provided accommodation, language support and places in schools for his children.

However, Bayern's approaches are still being met with the cold shoulder by Levy, who expects Kane to remain with the Lilywhites for the 2023-24 season and is willing to risk allowing the forward to enter the final year of his contract.

Kane is reportedly set to return to Hotspur Way for pre-season training on Wednesday, and the England captain is expected to hold showdown talks with new manager Ange Postecoglou over his future.

Spurs are believed to have offered Kane a lucrative new deal, but the striker has not shown a willingness to put pen to paper yet, as he wants to meet with Postecoglou face-to-face before making any firm decisions.

In an attempt to bring his high-intensity, attacking brand of football to Tottenham, Postecoglou has brought in James Maddison from Leicester City, as well as signing goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli amid speculation over Hugo Lloris's future.

Dejan Kulusevski's loan move from Juventus has also been converted into a permanent deal, and there is optimism that Postecoglou's 4-3-3 can finally deliver long-awaited success to North London and end Spurs' 15-year trophy drought.

Kane is yet to win a piece of major silverware at Tottenham, but he is hunting down Alan Shearer at the top of the Premier League goalscoring charts - a feat that he can seemingly only work towards at Tottenham next season after Manchester United cooled their interest.

The Englishman moved onto 213 Premier League goals last season with 30 top-flight strikes, while also breaking Jimmy Greaves's all-time Spurs record and moving past Wayne Rooney at the top of the England charts.

However, Spurs could only muster an eighth-placed finish in the Premier League, meaning that Kane is set to be without European football for the first time in his senior career next term.
