Fernando Alonso congratulates "dominant" Sebastian Vettel

Fernando Alonso congratulates Sebastian Vettel on winning his fourth consecutive Formula 1 World Championship at the Indian Grand Prix.

Fernando Alonso has congratulated Sebastian Vettel on winning his fourth consecutive Formula 1 World Championship at the Indian Grand Prix.

The Red Bull driver finished in first place in Greater Noida, ahead of Mercedes' Nico Rosberg and Lotus's Romain Grosjean.

It is now impossible for Alonso, who is in second place in the overall standings, to catch Vettel with three races left this season.

"I congratulate Sebastian Vettel, they have been very strong and dominant, especially in the second half of the season and Red Bull deserve to be champions," the Spaniard, who finished the race in 11th place, told BBC Sport.

"We need to start thinking about next year and make things more difficult for him."

The Formula 1 calendar continues next weekend at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
