Lotus driver Romain Grosjean has admitted that his team's strategy to stay off prime tyres through the first part of qualifying was not the right one.
The Frenchman starts Sunday's Indian Grand Prix 17th on the grid after he and his team gambled on getting through to Q2, and Grosjean admitted that both he and Lotus we "a little too brave".
He told Sky Sports News: "It's not the end of the world. It's not good, it's not good for the constructors' and it's clearly not what we were expecting.
"The wind changed a little bit, the car was a bit harder to drive but it wasn't far off what we should have been doing."
Lotus are fourth in the constructors' standings but only 33 points behind second placed Ferrari.
