Mercedes are fined €10,000 for their unsafe pit-lane release of Michael Schumacher into the path of Lewis Hamilton during qualifying for tomorrow's Korean Grand Prix.

Mercedes have been fined €10,000 (£8,000) for their unsafe release of Michael Schumacher during the final qualifying session at the Korean Grand Prix.

Veteran Schumacher was allowed to leave the garage just as McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton was heading down the pit lane.

The 2008 world champion had to swerve out of the lane to avoid the German and ensure that both men were able to take part in the session.

Mark Webber of Red Bull went on to take pole, with Hamilton third and Schumacher 10th.
