Great Britain win two team gold medals at European Trampoline Championships

Great Britain win two team gold medals after a stellar day's work in the tumbling and double mini trampoline events at the Trampoline European Championships in Rimini.

Great Britain ended the day with two team gold medals at the Trampoline European Championships in Rimini after sterling work in the senior tumbling and double mini trampoline events.

After the men's team had secured the bronze in the trampoline team event on Thursday, GB began with a double gold-medal swoop in the men's tumbling and women's DMT team competitions.

The new-look men's tumbling team comprised of 2013 individual world champion Kristof Willerton, Jaydon Paddock, Ramarni Levina and Lewis Westwood stormed to the crown with 14 points on the day, six years on from winning the European title in Valladolid.

Willerton and Paddock both took the maximum five points from their passes before Levina added four to the team total, with Denmark (11) settling for second as Azerbaijan (nine) clinched the bronze.

The women's double mini team ended their competition with 13 points to finish atop the podium, with 2018 individual European champion Kirsty Way and Kim Beattie both picking up five points.

Beth Williamson and Maddi Tarrant collected their gold medals alongside Way and Beattie, with Portugal close behind on 12 points and Spain taking third place with 11.

Later in the day, GB's women's tumbling team fell just short of making it a trio of European crowns by taking second place with 12 points - two clear of third-placed Belgium with the same gap to champions France.

The men's double mini team also completed a set of podium finishes for the nation by winning bronze in their competition, with their 10 points seeing them finish behind Belgium and table-topping Spain.
