Tracey Neville urges netball to keep "evolving" following Superleague interest

England head coach Tracey Neville believes that netball franchises need to take "risks" in order to keep the sport "evolving".

Tracey Neville believes that netball franchises need to keep taking "risks" after thousands of fans turned up to watch the Superleague semi-finals and grand final.

Neville, who was appointed England head coach last month, led her Manchester Thunder side to a third-place playoff 55-49 win over Yorkshire Jets.

The team were forced to move their semi-final clash to the Manchester Arena in order to make room for more than 4,000 supporters.

The grand final between Surrey Storm and Hertfordshire Mavericks welcomed 6,000 spectators to London's Copper Box last weekend.

"I think with these games we've seen examples of where our sport can start evolving to," The Independent quotes Neville as saying. "I think now every franchise needs to be challenged and each year, with another franchise, put on a big event. It's about taking a risk."

Neville, who is the sister of ex-Manchester United footballers Phil and Gary Neville, will lead England in this year's World Cup.
