American footballer Josh Robinson has compared same-sex marriage to paedophilia and incest during a rant on Twitter.

The United States Supreme Court legalised same-sex marriage nationwide yesterday, and the Minnesota Vikings cornerback has responded by saying that it is hypocritical to consider it different from the two crimes.

He wrote: "Love is love? So what will we say when the 30yr old loves YOUR 10 year old. When the dad loves HIS 6 year old "It's different?? Yea okay!.

"The day one person makes that stand, some may support, but many will say that's sick! That day I will say "hypocrites"."

He later added: "EVERYONE has a right to believe what they want to believe. You shared yours, I shared mine."

The account has since been set to private, removing it from the public.
