Paul George apologises for tweets on Ray Rice issue

Indiana Pacers forward Paul George takes to Twitter to apologise for a number of comments that could have been viewed as offensive by sufferers of domestic violence.

Indiana Pacers small forward Paul George has apologised for a number of tweets in response to the current domestic violence furore surrounding NFL player Ray Rice.

The 24-year-old NBA playmaker posted several tweets, some of which have now been deleted, that could have been construed as offensive to victims of violence at the hands of their partners.

However, the Indiana man has now moved to apologise to his followers on the social media platform:

George will be back in NBA action for his side when the new campaign gets underway on October 28.
