Brendan Rodgers, Jamie Carragher reveal their Grand National picks

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers reveals that he is backing AP McCoy in Saturday's Grand National, while ex-Reds star Jamie Carragher says that he has picked Rocky Creek.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has revealed that he is backing Shutthefrontdoor to win the 2015 Aintree Grand National this afternoon.

The horse will be ridden by AP McCoy, who is running a record-breaking 20th time at the event before he retires later this year, and Rodgers is hoping the Northern Irishman can seal a famous win.

Rodgers is quoted as saying in the Daily Mail: "I'm hoping McCoy brings the curtain down on his wonderful career with his last big victory."

Meanwhile, ex-Reds defender Jamie Carragher has explained that he has picked Rocky Creek to finish past the post first in Liverpool.

"The Grand National is brilliant for my home city, and everyone takes an interest," the legendary centre-back told the Daily Mail. "Rocky Creek is trained by the champion and looks strong."

The Grand National race begins at 4.15pm.
