Black Caviar team unsure on future of mare

The team of unbeaten racehorse Black Caviar say they will not be rushed into any decision on the mare's future.

The camp associated with unbeaten Aussie racehorse Black Caviar have said they will not make a hasty decision on the mare's future.

The six-year-old won her 22nd consecutive race in unconvincing fashion at the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot yesterday.

Jockey Luke Nolen seemed to ease up way before the line and was almost pipped by Moonlight Cloud but came through by a head.

Speaking afterwards, Black Caviar's part-owner, Gary Wilkie, insists any talk of her retirement is premature.

He told the Herald Sun: "You never make decisions on race day.

"We have three months to decide whether to keep racing her or if she is retired to stud.

"Peter (Moody, her trainer) is so meticulous with his planning and preparation, we leave all those decisions up to him. He will only do what is right for Black Caviar."

The horse has become an Australian icon and thousands turned up in Melbourne's Federation Square to watch her take victory for the first time on English soil.
