Great Britain take bronze in the men's pairs, behind comfortable winners New Zealand.

Great Britain have taken bronze in the men's pairs with a time of 6:21.77.

New Zealand comfortably took gold with 6:16.65, and France silver with 6:21.11.

France shot into an early lead and were half a length ahead of the field by the 250m marker, New Zealand pushing into second by the quarter.

Team GB were just ahead of the chasing pack at the first time-check, but were unable to press on towards the leaders by the halfway point.

New Zealand had a huge lead and had the gold wrapped up by 1,000m, but France looked to have gone out too quickly with Great Britain chasing.

They overtook the French by 1,500m, with Italy and France in close contention and the battle was on for silver, with France just edging out Team GB.
