Team England swimmer Luke Greenbank has narrowly missed out on a medal in the men's 200m backstroke event at the Commonwealth Games.
The 20-year-old is a European Games gold medallist in the distance and had been considered a fierce contender for one of the podium spots tonight but once again the host nation pulled off another trifecta in the pool.
Mitch Larkin, who had already triumphed in the 50m and 100m distances in the stroke, added the 200m title to his collection with a finish in 1:56.10.
Hot on his heels was Bradley Woodward - silver medallist in the 100m back - with a time of 1:56.57, while teammate Josh Beaver took the last place on the podium with a time of 1:57.04.
Greenbank was back in a time of 1:57.43 - only good enough for fourth - while Scotland's Craig McNally was seventh on 1:58.32 and Wales's Xavier Castelli finished eighth with a time of 1:59.27.
