England weightlifter Mercy Brown is confident that she will bounce back from the disappointment of failing to secure a medal at this year's Commonwealth Games.
Brown finished fourth in this afternoon's 75kg category after two failed attempts in the 112kg clean and jerk hindered her chances of a podium finish.
Speaking to reporters, Brown admitted that finishing outside the medals was 'upsetting', but claims that she can make amends and secure a top-three finish in Australia 2018.
"I'm feeling upset about finishing fourth – the crowd were behind me but I just focused myself to get the final one because I found that it was a bit too loud on the first two," she said.
"I'm not sure what's next for me at the moment – I'll probably just train for the European Junior Championships.
"I think I can definitely get a medal at the Commonwealth Games in the future though."
Canada's Marie-Eve Beauchemin-Nadeau claimed the gold, while Mary Opeloge of Samoa and Fiji's Apolonia Vaivai took the silver and bronze respectively.
