Team News: Barcelona make eight changes for Bayer Leverkusen clash

Barcelona head coach Luis Enrique makes eight changes for his side's Champions League match with Bayer Leverkusen, as former Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen starts.

Barcelona head coach Luis Enrique has made eight changes from the side that drew 1-1 with Valencia at the weekend for this evening's Champions League Group E match at Bayer Leverkusen.

Adriano replaces Dani Alves at right-back, while youngsters Sergi Samper and Wilfrid Kaptoum are preferred to Andreas Iniesta and Sergio Busquets in midfield.

Youngsters Sandro and Munir El Haddadi are named up front alongside Messi, while Luis Suarez will start on the bench.

Hosts Leverkusen have made three changes from the side that was defeated 2-1 by Hertha Berlin at the weekend, as Hakan Calhanoglu replaces Julian Brandt in midfield, while Wendell and Roberto Hilbert are preferred to Giulio Donati and Sebastian Boenisch at full-back.
