Preview: Brighton & Hove Albion vs. Charlton Athletic

Sports Mole looks ahead to Saturday's Championship clash between Brighton and unbeaten Charlton at the Amex Stadium.

Charlton Athletic will look to keep up their good start to the season when they travel to face Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium on Saturday.

The Addicks are one of just three remaining unbeaten sides in the Championship after the first four matches and currently sit in fifth place at this early stage of the season.

It is fair to say that their start has been better than expected, with surprise victories over promotion candidates Wigan Athletic and Derby County.

However, having struggled against relegation last season, there have been signs of a slump in the last week, with a draw against Huddersfield Town being followed by defeat in the second round of the League Cup.

The draw against the Terriers will be the most disappointing result for Bob Peeters's side having had an extra man for the entire second half.

It took Charlton until the 92nd minute to find the equaliser, but the positive for Peeters will be that it came for summer signing Igor Vetokele, who now has three goals in four games for the club.

He will once again start up front alongside George Tucudean this weekend, with Peeters able to name an unchanged side.

Brighton, meanwhile, are finally starting to find their feet under new manager Sami Hyypia, who got off to a shaky start at the Amex Stadium.

The Finn saw his side slump to two disappointing defeats in his first two league games at the helm, but since then the Seagulls have won three on the bounce in all competitions.

Victories over Leeds United and Bolton Wanderers have ensured that Brighton have finally got their season up and running, and they maintained that momentum in midweek with an extra-time victory over Swindon Town in the League Cup.

Hyypia has been busy bolstering his squad this week, with Sam Baldock, Gary Gardner and Adrian Colunga all joining, but the new trio could be forced to wait for their league debuts.

Jake Forster-Caskey is expected to remain in midfield having scored twice in the win over Swindon, while Joao Teixeira will look to continue his own good goalscoring form.
