League Two roundup: Shrewsbury Town lose first home game of the season

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday's League Two action as Shrewsbury Town lose at home for the first time this season courtesy of a 2-1 defeat to Northampton.

Shrewsbury Town lost their first League Two home game of the season as Joel Byrom and Chris Hackett both scored for Northampton Town in a 2-1 win.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink lost his third game as Burton Albion manager, with Newport County's Miles Storey scoring the game's only goal on the hour mark.

Dean Parrett failed to convert a last-minute penalty for 10-man Stevenage as Wycombe Wanderers goalkeeper Matt Ingram saved to keep the scores at 2-2.

Goals in either half from Jayden Stockley and Luke Guttridge comfortably sealed all three points for Luton Town against Accrington Stanley.

Debutant Ryan Bird scored the winner for bottom-placed Hartlepool United against AFC Wimbledon, helping them close the gap on the sides above them.

Daniel Nardiello and Danny Rose helped Bury's playoff cause by scoring the game's two goals as the away side beat Plymouth Argyle 2-0.

Junior Brown scored a late winner for Mansfield Town in their 2-1 victory over Dagenham & Redbridge.

Cambridge United got the better of Morecambe as Ryan Donaldson and Jordan Slew netted in each half to win all three points for the visitors.

A Danny Holmes own goal and a Troy Brown strike saw Cheltenham Town grab a home win against in-form Tranmere Rovers.

Phil Brown's Southend United beat Carlisle United as second-half strikes from Michael Timlin and Barry Corr helped the home side with their promotion chase.

Two fixtures in League Two ended goalless, as Portsmouth and Oxford United's game failed to see a goal scored and York City and Exeter City's players were unable to break the deadlock throughout 90 minutes.
