Piti earns Granada point against Deportivo La Coruna

Granada earn a 1-1 draw against Deportivo La Coruna thanks to a second-half equaliser from Piti.

Granada forward Piti scored midway through the second half to earn his side a 1-1 draw at home against Deportivo La Coruna in La Liga.

Granada had two early chances through Youssef El-Arabi and Javi Marquez but both put their efforts straight at German Lux in the Deportivo goal.

Faycal Fajr then had a chance for Depor from just outside the box but Moroccan put his effort just wide of the top corner.

Deportivo then went ahead after working the ball down the left channel, the ball was pulled back to Fajr who then took a touch before volleying past Granada goalkeeper Andreas.

The away side had another opportunity after the break as Lucas Perez swung in a ball to the back post but Jonathan Rodriguez could not tap the ball into an open goal.

Piti almost drew Granada level after spotting Lux off his line but his attempt could only find the base of the post.

The 34-year-old did level the scores minutes later when after some sustained Granada pressure, the ball was pulled back for Piti to side-foot home the equaliser from 12 yards out.

Celso Borges had two chances to put Deportivo back in front with 10 minutes remaining but his first was saved by Andreas before his second was blocked well by the Granada defence.

The draw moves Granada level on points with Athletic Bilbao but they remain in the relegation places in La Liga, while Deportivo remain in the Europa League places in sixth.
