Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Bournemouth

Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash against Bournemouth.

Liverpool will endeavour to get off the mark in the 2023-24 Premier League season at the second attempt when they welcome Bournemouth to Anfield on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp's side were pegged back by Chelsea in a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge last week, as Axel Disasi cancelled out a Luis Diaz opener in West London.

The Reds will play host to Andoni Iraola's side 12 months on from their unforgettable 9-0 obliteration of the Scott Parker-led Cherries, who gleaned revenge with a 1-0 success at the Vitality Stadium seven months later.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Bournemouth, who played out a low-scoring stalemate of their own with West Ham United on matchday one.

Thiago Alcantara

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hip
Possible return date: August 27 (vs. Newcastle United)

Thiago Alcantara is yet to return from the hip operation that ruled him out of the final weeks of the 2022-23 campaign, and Saturday's game will likely come too soon for him as well, but there is optimism that he will be back in action before the end of the month.

Stefan Bajcetic

Status: Out
Type of injury: Adductor
Possible return date: August 27 (vs. Newcastle United)

As is the case with his compatriot, Stefan Bajcetic could still take another couple of weeks to fully recuperate from his severe adductor injury, offering some hope of a return against Newcastle United on August 27.
