Team News: Louis van Gaal makes three changes to United team for Shrewsbury FA Cup tie

Louis van Gaal makes three changes to his Manchester United team for tonight's FA Cup fifth-round tie against Shrewsbury Town.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has made three changes to his team for tonight's FA Cup fifth-round tie against Shrewsbury Town.

The 11-time tournament winners are riddled with injuries as they have 14 players, including captain Wayne Rooney and goalkeeper David de Gea, on the treatment table.

Following last week's 2-1 defeat to FC Midtjylland in the Europa League, Van Gaal has withdrawn Paddy McNair and Michael Carrick from the starting lineup, while Donald Love is cup-tied.

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, Morgan Schneiderlin and Guillermo Varela have all come into the side, while Sergio Romero keeps his place in between the sticks.

Daley Blind and Chris Smalling are included in the defence, while Ander Herrera joins Schneiderlin in midfield, with Memphis Depay, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard providing assistance to lone striker Anthony Martial.

Meanwhile, Shrewsbury have named an unchanged side from the one that sealed a 3-2 win over Blackpool in their League One clash on February 13.

Former United midfielder Larnell Cole returns to action after missing three games with a groin problem, but has to settle for a spot on the bench, while Jack Grimmer makes the lineup following an injury concern.

Shrewsbury Town: Leutwiler; Grandison, Whitbread, Knight-Percival; Grimmer, Whalley, Ogogo, Black, Brown; Mangan, Akpa Akpro
Subs: Halstead, Sadler, Vernon, Clark, Cole, Smith, Grandin

Manchester United: Romero; Varela, Smalling, Blind, Borthwick-Jackson; Schneiderlin, Herrera; Memphis, Mata, Lingard; Martial
Subs: Henderson, McNair, Poole, Carrick, Pereira, Riley, Keane
